Biography

Velile first appeared in a CBBC series that won an award in the Race in Media Awards, 'a truly home grown comedy that reflects ethnic make-up of 21st century Britain'.

She's performed at Stratford Theatre, presented and provided voiceover for CBBC and MTV and has several television credits, through recommendation from directors, producers and writers she's worked with;

'Vel's a vibrant and disciplined artist, she's always a delight to work with. Her talents include an ability to focus her performances with well thought precision. I've worked with her on several occasions. I'm always impressed with her confident aptitude to punctuate comic timing. Vel takes direction well and is also flexible and generous with her fellow cast members.'
Angie de Chatelai Smith, director.

'I first met Vel 7 years ago when she was one of my leading ladies in a comedy I was directing. I found her an absolute joy to work with. Not only is she a great actress with a wide range of performances, she also is the perfect professional. It is pleasure to work with someone who has learnt their lines, knows the meaning behind them, arrives on time with a smile on their face, takes everything that is thrown at them in there stride, without complaint (a rare breed in this industry), and has bundles of energy to go round. Her presence on location brightens the day. I have since worked with her other occasions and will actually have the pleasure of her professionalism again in a few weeks as the main guest lead on my next production'
Dez McCarthy, director of 13 years experince in the film and tv industry.

'I worked closely with Vel most days for about 4 weeks on Doctor Who, throughout which time she showed punctuality, professionalism and a friendly nature towards everyone she worked with. I was her dresser and looked after her on set and it was a real pleasure. She was never late, never moaned (not even after long hours in a corset!) and was helpful and thoughtful in every aspect. Due to the continuity of filming, there are requirements for the actor/actress and certain departments (costume, make-up or art department) to work together to make sure the scenes all run together smoothly. Vel was always very obliging with any obstacles put in her path and this, as well as her friendly outgoing nature made her a complete pleasure to work with and I'd love to have the opportunity to work with her again.'
